Alexis graduated from Johnson County Community College. She was named Student of the Year and also made the President’s Honor Roll. Alexis attended National Wella Trend Vision and the North American Hairstyling Awards ceremony in 2016. She attended Wella Triple Craft Cut class with Stephen Moody. Alexis enjoys pixies and shorter hairstyles, and likes trying new techniques on clients to keep it fun and interesting. She loves the blondes, and is currently mastering highlighting and Balayage methods.

Andra graduated from Eric Fisher Academy in Wichita, KS and then moved to Chicago to apprentice at Trio Salon under Anne Coconate, former Assistant Color Director for Sassoon. She returned to teach at Eric Fisher Academy, where she also became a national trainer for ProsperU and a video stylist for Style with Knowledge training series. Andra’s education includes classes with Oscar Bond, Pope the Barber and Gerard Scarpaci. She has also taken Wella’s Triple Craft Class with Stephen Moody, Aquage Masterclass Academy and L’Oréal Color Connections. Andra loves bold color changes, as well as natural, enhancing highlights. She also enjoys cutting bobs and showing clients how to achieve a great sense of style at home.

Chloe received her Cosmetology degree from the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, CA; shortly after, she took on an apprenticeship at Doyle Wilson Salon (on Melrose Avenue) in Los Angeles. Chloe has attended numerous courses at Bumble & Bumble University (NYC) including Educator Workshops and worked at Planet Salon on Melrose Avenue in Beverly Hills until relocating to Kansas City. She has also trained with celebrity stylist Garren at the R&Co Education Center in Miami, FL. Chloe has been an integral part of bijin’s Advanced Training Program and continues to teach several classes a year.

mersadesadvanced stylist re-joined bijin in 2021 Mersades graduated from the acclaimed Eric Fischer Academy in Wichita, KS, where she also grew up. She was a standout in the school and was chosen to enter the student competition in the North American Hairstyling Awards. Mersades has attended cutting workshops with the International Creative Director for Vidal Sassoon, Wella Color Workshops with Alexandra Matiz, Sonya Dove, and Sassoon’s Richie Rivera. She also participated in the Triple Threat Foilayage Class with Ashley Norman. For five consecutive years starting in 2015, Mersades was a make-up artist, model, or colorist in Wella’s National Trend Vision Competition. She stays up on the latest trends (and sets them!) in haircuts, color and fashion by constantly researching and remembering to always be a student. Currently, she specializes in sun-kissed colors, fashion color and color blocking. She also loves to cut women’s short hair and specializes in fine textured hair which play into her “very detailed” nature. She graduated from Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy in Dallas, Texas, and quickly grew into a leader at bijin. She enjoys traveling; looking for the next inspiration to bring back home. Shelby’s interest in hair first started with his childhood dog Buffy who let him curl the hair in her ears and the rest is history! As a cosmetology graduate in 1990, he first joined bijin in 1992 as an Associate Stylist. He took a nine year break to own his own salon and bijin is happy that he has returned!
His impressive resume includes: Network Educator for Bumble and bumble, Aveda, Vidal Sassoon cutting classes, and salon owner. Along with numerous shows and workshops, Shelby attended the Session Master Stylist program with hair guru, super stylist Luigi Murenu. With his extensive training and background he helped to create the bijin advanced education program. Harper’s Bazaar magazine named him one of America’s hottest colorists.
Apart from mastering the craft of hairstyling, Shelby also mastered the craft of consultation and listening skills. His passion is to help clients create a hair plan in order to evolve their look by working with what they have naturally. He loves prescribing the right products to be able to recreate the look at home and work with their personal lifestyle.
