Andra graduated from Eric Fisher Academy in Wichita, KS and then moved to Chicago to apprentice at Trio Salon under Anne Coconate, former Assistant Color Director for Sassoon. She returned to teach at Eric Fisher Academy, where she also became a national trainer for ProsperU and a video stylist for Style with Knowledge training series. Andra’s education includes classes with Oscar Bond, Pope the Barber and Gerard Scarpaci. She has also taken Wella’s Triple Craft Class with Stephen Moody, Aquage Masterclass Academy and L’Oréal Color Connections. Andra loves bold color changes, as well as natural, enhancing highlights. In 2010, Raymond earned a degree in Chemistry from the University of Missouri, KC. When turning his focus to this industry, he trained at Paul Mitchell (Overland Park) and Vidal Sassoon (Santa Monica). He has expanded his craft through various workshops and competitions including: Vidal Sassoon Color (NYC), Vidal Sassoon Creative Cutting (Santa Monica), V76 Styling with Vaughn Acord (NYC), Caper Paul Mitchell (Las Vegas), Kérastase Styling (Nashville) and Barbering with the Clipper Guy (Chicago). Shelby’s interest in hair first started with his childhood dog Buffy who let him curl the hair in her ears and the rest is history! As a cosmetology graduate in 1990, he first joined bijin in 1992 as an Associate Stylist. He took a nine year break to own his own salon and bijin is happy that he has returned!
His impressive resume includes: Network Educator for Bumble and bumble, Aveda, Vidal Sassoon cutting classes, and salon owner. Along with numerous shows and workshops, Shelby attended the Session Master Stylist program with hair guru, super stylist Luigi Murenu. With his extensive training and background he helped to create the bijin advanced education program. Harper’s Bazaar magazine named him one of America’s hottest colorists.
Apart from mastering the craft of hairstyling, Shelby also mastered the craft of consultation and listening skills. His passion is to help clients create a hair plan in order to evolve their look by working with what they have naturally. He loves prescribing the right products to be able to recreate the look at home and work with their personal lifestyle.
