Welcome! Please review the list below which details what to expect during your appointment with us:

Credit cards are required to hold appointments. Please consider accessing our secure online scheduling system in advance to upload your credit card information to reserve your appointments and schedule online. This will save time and interaction upon check out, and also ensure touchless transactions.

We require a 24 hour advance notification if you are unable to keep your appointment. Should you be unable to provide this, your credit card will be charged the full amount of the services. Due to the high demand of requested appointments, we need ample time to utilize our wait list.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Text us at 913-294-7697 upon arrival, and please wait in your car or outside of our facility at a safe distance until the appointment time. We will text you when your service provider is ready for the appointment. We kindly ask you to arrive early for your appointment. With extra sanitation processes in place and the time it takes between clients to clean and prepare, the margin for error on timing of appointments is very small, and we need your help navigating our new normal. Should we not be able to start on time, we may need to abbreviate the service with our new protocols. Thank you for your cooperation.

We require that you wear a mask to enter and to your salon or spa appointment and we ask that you wear one that secures behind the ears for hair appointments. Masks are required for our staff as well.

Published prices will remain the same in order to support the financial health of our team members, their families and our business. We have made a substantial investment in providing safety for you and our staff by following city, state and federal mandates. The cost of doing business is higher in our new world, and we have chosen not to add a COVID charge at this time as many advisers have recommended. We will return to all of our amenities you are accustomed to and we enjoy providing as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding. We couldn’t do this without you, and are grateful for your loyalty and support.

Please arrive alone, and only people with scheduled appointments will be allowed. We understand that parents or care givers need to be present for certain appointments, but we ask that you make other arrangements for your children or anyone else who might have normally accompanied you to bijin.

Magazines and beverages have been removed from the waiting areas. Please feel free to bring in your own water and other non-alcoholic beverages. Please do not bring any food into the facility.

Upon entering bijin, you will be asked to clean your hands with sanitizer. We have disposable gloves if you want or need them. You will be required to sign a waiver, releasing bijin from any liability pertaining to your personal health and the COVID virus. We have sterilized pens for your use, or you can print, review and sign the waiver at home and bring it with you to your appointment.

You will also be required to answer the following questions:

  • Do you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, and/or no sense of smell or taste?
  • Have you had exposure to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 within the past month?
  • Have you traveled to any location under the State of Kansas/KDHE quarantine mandate within the last 14 days?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, you will need to re-schedule your appointment.

We will take your temperature and log it accordingly.

Smocks will only be provided for color clients.

Consultations will adhere to social distancing guidelines, 6 feet apart before sitting in the chair. Social distancing guidelines will be in place throughout all areas of the salon/spa. The color processing table is temporarily closed and your service provider will direct you to the appropriate areas for processing.

Please keep talking and socializing to a minimum. Not talking is the absolute safest thing for all….this will help eliminate germ spread.

We are scheduling multiple spa services, but not spa packages at this time. Our dressing rooms and steam showers are currently closed and spa lunches are not being served at this time. Clients are asked to change clothes in the room where the service is being performed. 

It is our goal to have completely touchless transactions upon checkout. We are eliminating handling cash for all transactions and have a new system for gratuities using credit or debit cards: Tippy kiosk. This is an iPad system separate from our software used in checkout and requires you to physically swipe your card at each visit. You may bring cash or use our new Tippy kiosk for gratuities, but we no longer give cash back.

For your service and/or retail checkout, please consider going to our secure online scheduling system to upload your credit card in advance to save time and ensure a touchless transaction. Even if you upload your credit card information into our scheduling software system, you will still need to swipe your card in order to use our new Tippy gratuity system. Please bring some form of payment with you to your appointment, whether you plan to use it or not.

When browsing our retail area, please only touch what you intend to purchase. At the very least, please wash and sanitize (or wear gloves) before handling product. All testers have been temporarily removed from our retail area. If you know what you need to purchase ahead of time, please let us know and we will have it ready for you upon check-out. Most of our products are also available online at

Gift cards are available online 24/7, which allows for touchless transactions. Gift cards are redeemable for in-store products/services only.

As a high-touch industry of licensed professionals, we are governed by the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology to mitigate the spread of disease and uphold the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness. To ensure the health and well-being of our clients, staff, their families and the community at large, we have added the following enhancements to existing practices in order to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.

Practice social distancing…cutting chairs are already placed 6 feet apart.

Plexi glass dividers placed at check in, check out, manicure tables, pedicure chairs, and shampoo bowls.

Staff will be wearing PPE.

Several times throughout the day and before and after hours, we will be sanitizing all administrative, public and private areas of the salon/spa. All shampoo bowls, shampoo chairs, station chairs, dressing rooms and lockers will be sanitized after each use.

All of our service providers have been recently re-trained and re-certified by industryleaders Barbicide and Rejuvenate.

Clean and disposable capes, neck strips and towels are used for every service.

Alcohol spray, wipes, Barbicide comb and shear sterilizer and tissue box at every station

Several UV sanitizers for tools and brushes located throughout the salon

Hand sanitizer receptacles located around the salon and spa, and clients are required to wash their hands before receiving a service. Service providers will wash their hands after every application.

Our entire space has been treated with an Electrostatic disinfecting spray, Enviroshield ENDURE. This “invisible shield” is a hospital-grade disinfectant that kills a broad spectrum of 99.999% of disease-causing bacteria and viruses. The Endure spray-on treatment bonds to surfaces at the molecular level, leaving a protected antimicrobial coating on the surface that can last for up to a year. This “self-cleaning” coating kills germs on contact. It helps protect against recontamination and continuously controls surface bacteria, fungi, algae and mold.

We have invested in an advanced air purification system for the salon: the Synexis Microbial Reduction System is proven to be effective against both surface and airborne contaminants such as viruses, bacteria, and odors. Other industries serviced by Synexis include hospitals, government buildings, university housing, the foodservice industry. Local businesses utilizing the system include Tavern in the Village and The Kansas City Royals. Cleaner air and surfaces provide a healthier environment!
